Halloween

I haven't been able to post in a while because I couldn't get to my blog. But now I'm back! Josey and I are doing well. She is very steady standing on her feet now without holding onto anything. She has yet to take her first steps without holding onto something or me, but I am expecting it any day now. Things have been a little crazy at school this week with 6 weeks test and preparation for the Fall Festival. It was last night and Josey and I went. There were tons of people there and we had a good time. Some of my students were feeding Josey pieces of cupcake and a hershey bar so she loved it. They thought it was hilarious that she would chew and then open her mouth and dive at them like a baby bird to get food. Pretty funny. I'll post pics of her in her costume next week. Here is one that was taken last night at the Fall Festival. Mom scanned it in, so that's why there is so much white space and it's not really clear.

Josey's 1st birthday party and 1 year checkup

Here are the pics from Josey's birthday party. A great time was had by all. The leggings had to be added to her outfit at the last minute because of the weather being kind of cold. I love the one of me, Josey, and Mabel (the dog).
Josey had her 1 year checkup yesterday. She is still in the 95th percentile in weight, the 97th in height, and off the charts with her head size. He said that she is doing great. She has recently decided that she is grown, so she has quit eating baby food. She only wants to eat whatever I am having. This may sound stupid, but I am kind of at a loss on what to feed her. I want her to eat healthy and I'll admit that I don't really eat that healthy. I guess I'll have to do better. Hope y'all enjoy the pics of my little boog.

A party

Nathan's family had their party for Josey's birthday this past weekend. I stayed the whole time (hey, I'm not missing my kid's party, just because her dad and I are splitting up) and everyone had a really good time. The party was princess themed, just like her real party is going to be this coming weekend. Josey did NOT want to wear her princess crown! She kept pulling it off.
Here is Josey in front of all of her presents that she got. She crawled right over to them.

She seemed more interested the boxes than the actual presents that were in them.

Nathan's mom got her this very big, very ugly baby. She loves it.

She got this Little Mermaid car and she thinks it is great. Of course, the new baby had to ride on it with her.

Mrs. Bullard made the cakes and they were ADORABLE. The cake above is the one that everyone ate. The one below is the one that was just for Josey to eat. She didn't do hardly any damage to it, as you can see in the pics. She really liked eating the cookies better than the cake.

Zoe's birthday party

Zoe turned one last week and on Saturday Josey and I went to her party. Here are a few pics from the event. Karen really outdid herself with the decorations and food. I didn't get great pics, but you can get the idea.
Josey enjoyed getting to chew on somebody else's toys! The little boy in the pic belongs to Sarah. He is her youngest and his name is Caleb.
Here is Josey chewing on one of Zoe's new toys.

Look at my big girl standing up!

Here is Zoe, the birthday girl! See, everything goes right into her mouth, just like Josey does.

At this age, they don't really play together as much as play near each other. Funny.

Happy 1st Birthday, Josey!

One year ago today, I fell in love. It is a special kind of love that only a mother can understand. Josey was born one year ago today at 3:35 pm. At that point, my life changed forever. My life has been better than I could have imagined since Josey was born. Every day for a year she has made me laugh. Every day for a year she has made me smile. Every day for a year I have enjoyed being with my baby girl. I can't believe that she is already one. Time has flown by. She pulls up constantly now and walks along the furniture. She can stand unassisted (for a minute). Josey hasn't walked on her own yet, but it won't be long. She is in a hurry to go somewhere. Once she learns to walk, I'll have to keep my eye on the door, because she'll be out of it quick to go play with the dogs. This picture isn't the greatest of us, but it is the most recent.

hard post to write

Ok, so I have been needing to post this and completely not wanting to. I don't see things changing at all so I might as well tell all in blog land what is going on. Nathan and I are getting a divorce. This has been in the works for a little over 2 weeks and I didn't want to post about it because I was hoping that things might change, but they are not. That's it. Don't give me lots and lots of sympathy because Josey and I will be fine. I'm strong. We can make it on our own. That's all for now.
