sick Josey

I took Josey to the doctor Friday and he said that she has an upper repiratory infection. She is on breathing treatments every 4 hours, steroids for 5 days, and antibiotics for 5 days. The breathing treatments are HORRIBLE because she acts like we are torturing her. Back to the doctor today to see what they are going to do now since she isn't getting better very quickly.

summer details

Now that I've got my pictures posted from the summer, I'll give y'all some details. Josey has reached several major milestones. She learned to crawl. I was so glad to get to be home with her everyday to see her get to learn this. She started first going from lying on her stomach to sitting up by pushing her hands backwards until she was sitting up doing the splits and then she would move her legs to help her sit up better. She looks hilarious doing the splits. Then she started crawling backwards. After several days of that, she progressed to forward crawling. It took her no time at all to learn to go VERY fast. Now she is pulling up on EVERYTHING. It seems like she is growing so fast. I wish she would slow down just a little to give me time to adjust to the fact that she isn't really a baby anymore.

Josey got a new saddle this summer. Mom and I went to the flea market in Jewett and happened upon it. It is adorable. I'll take some pics of her with it for y'all to see.

Josey got her ears pierced at the end of July. She didn't even cry when they did the first one. When they did the second ear, she cried for just a second and then she got happy. She has done great with them and they make her look very grown up.

We went to Kindermusik this summer once a week for eight weeks and I totally recommend it. Josey liked it a lot. It is nice to give her time to interact with other children close to her age. I plan on doing it again next summer.

I'm sure there is more that I could tell y'all but I can't think of any right now.

Tons of pictures!

Mom bought Josey her very own hat at the State 4-H Horseshow. Josey loves it. She will wear it and not even bother it. You can't see in this picture, but it has her initials on one side and her brand on the other.
If you look closely, you can see Josey's two bottom teeth in this picture. She is such a happy girl.
Riley isn't in this picture but she is in the chair right by Josey. Josey likes Riley and wants to follow her around. I'm not sure that the feeling is mutual all the time, but I think that Riley is getting more used to her.
I bought these bandana pants on etsy.com and I LOVE them. They look so cute and I've never seen another kid in something like them. They have them in all colors and I am buying another pair soon.
Now that Josey can crawl, everytime you try to take her picture, she usually tries to come to you. Or maybe she just does that to me. She's pretty partial to her mama.

This dress looks like she is going to the first day of school!

As y'all know, we have random photo sessions in our backyard pretty often. One of the dogs kept getting in the picture because she likes to lick Josey on the face.

I got this funny headband in the dollar bin at Target. Too cute.

Josey and Riley like to play in the floor together. Most of the time they are snatching toys away from each other.
Love the sunglasses. She will really wear them.

Me and my precious. You gotta love the sunflower.

We're back!

I love taking cutesy photos of my kid. She just cracks me up.
Josey went swimming quite a few times. She LOVES the water. She kicks her legs very hard so she can move around. Next summer we are going to take her to swimming lessons.

Josey met Rustyn. He looks tiny here, but we saw him this past weekend and he's much bigger now. Josey does NOT like for me to hold Rustyn. In fact, she cries hysterically. When they get bigger, I know they'll be good friends.

Sorry for the VERY long time between posts. It was a fabulous summer. I'll give more details about what all we did later, but here are some newer pictures to see. These are all in early June so I'll post more tomorrow that are much more recent.

2 teeth

Josey has TWO teeth now! Let me tell you, those teeth are some bad boogers. They have caused my child all kinds of pain. Not to mention- one painful experience for me- when she BIT me the other day. I'll try to get a pic of them soon. She is very secretive about them and won't let you see them unless you open her little mouth while she is sleeping.

summertime

Summer is wonderful. Josey and I have been having a great time getting to play everyday. Nathan hasn't been working that much, so sometimes her gets to play with us during the day, too. Mom got Josey a swing and she loves it. I am taking Josey to Kindermusik classes every Wednesday and she seems to really like them. I'll try to take some pics of her there. Last weekend, Josey went swimming for the first time in a real swimming pool. Kendra took some great pics of her and I'll post them soon. She kicked and kicked her legs like she was really going to swim. Josey is crying now and needs a nap. More later.

School's out for summer!

Yesterday afternoon, Josey got to "swim". Here is her little tub that Mom got her for her to play in the water. She LOVES it. You can surely tell that from the splashing in the pic. I plan on letting her swim a lot this summer.

Josey and her favorite toy aka the remote to our tv. She loves to chew on the remote. We usually let her, so if that makes us bad parents, sue us.

Josey loves to smile these days. Here is her little gummy smile. She has 1 tooth that has broken through the skin but you can't really see it yet.

Yesterday was the last day of school. I am so excited to get to stay home with Josey every day. I know it will go incredibly fast. Today we had a workday, so Mom kept Josey. I won't be posting as often this summer, but I'll try to keep y'all updated.

separation anxiety

With today and tomorrow left of school and Saturday a half a workday, Josey is showing some separation anxiety. She is usually very particular about wanting me, but now even more so. This morning I was getting ready and Nathan was playing with her like he usually does if he is home in the morning. She normally enjoys her time with him, but this morning she was not happy and kept fussing and reaching for me. When I would pick her up, she would be completely fine. Then we went to Rachael's for me to drop her off. She fussed when I handed her to Rachael and reached her arms out to me. She has never in her life done this and it made Rachael and I both sad. When I walked out the door, she started to cry. It broke my heart. Luckily, about 4 minutes after I left, Rachael texted me and said that she had immediately started playing with a toy and was totally fine. Thank goodness! If she hadn't gotten ok quickly, I would have wanted to go right back and get her.

our newest addition

I told y'all that we had a new horse out our house and here she is. Her name is HB. I'll not tell y'all what that stands for. Contrary to her name, HB is turning out to be really nice. She seems like more of a people horse than Radar. Josey likes her, too. Actually, Josey likes all animals right now. My mom commented on the fact that she doesn't seem a bit scared and that may be a problem later on.
Josey was trying to chew on HB's ear, but I didn't let her.

another ranch rodeo

Lots of pictures in this post. I love the one below of Josey in her little cap. She wore it the ranch rodeo so she wouldn't get sunburned like last time. Notice her little boots! They are square toed and double stitched like regular boots are. I love them.

Here is a picture of Nathan and Josey. Her and Daddy are very cute together.

Here is a picture of me and Josey. Check out the jeans. They are baby Wranglers. They are mine from when I was little. Mom saved them for me and gave them to me right before I had Josey.

Below is a picture of Brandon (my brother-in-law) roping a steer in the mugging at the ranch rodeo. Pretty cool, huh?

Below is a pic of Nathan getting up after the branding.

Here is a picture of Nathan on Radar. I know the fence cable is in the picture, but I couldn't get up because Josey was asleep in my lap.

We had a fun time. Nathan's team didn't win any money, but it was still a good day. Lots of our friends were there with their kids so it was a blast getting to watch them all play. Josey is dying to get on the ground and play with them! We have a new addition at our house- no, not a baby or a litter of puppies- a new horse! Nathan has been riding a grey mare for a man and he liked her so much that he bought her. She's five and I think she is really pretty. He says that she'll really watch a cow. He's got high hopes for her. I'm thrilled that he got something new. Maybe he'll quit riding Radar so much and save him for Josey.
